A new headquarters for the technology group IBM is being built in Ehningen near Stuttgart, offering space for around 3,500 employees. The building complex comprises four structures, each five storeys high and constructed as a reinforced concrete skeleton with flat ceilings. On the lower two floors, the individual parts of the building are connected by a central marketplace with an accessible green roof.
A special feature of the project is the impressive roof structure of the market square, where diagonally running, visible beams meet from different directions and thus characterize the architecture.
Inside the marketplace, there is also a column-free event hall with a span of 22 meters. The complex has a partial basement, which also houses a spacious canteen for employees.
The imposing new building houses around 700 HAFI Design 203 fittings across all trades.
