The State Office of Criminal Investigation has a new building for the Forensic Science and Technology Institute in Dresden. Through laboratory analyses or DNA examinations, forensic work supports the internal security of a country. State-of-the-art technical equipment is used to uncover criminal activities. The new building is equipped with numerous specialised laboratories and offices.
The precisely crafted sandstone façade reflects the clear structure of the new building. The almost square floor plan develops into a central courtyard. The long sides of the inner courtyard are each surrounded by laboratory zones.
The CTI in Dresden is one of the first laboratory buildings in Germany to be certified with Gold status under the German government's Assessment System for Sustainable Building (BNB). Energy is supplied via photovoltaics, for example.
The doors of the new building can be opened with the HAFI Design 224.
