The Lise-Meitner School is the upper-level centre for chemistry, physics and biology in Berlin. The compact new building was occupied in 2019 and offers its students practical learning in well-equipped subject rooms and laboratories.

In the course of the new building, an open two-phase art competition was announced, which Fritz Balthaus from Berlin won.

In his concept Bricolage Fritz Balthaus takes objects and furniture, such as chairs, canteen crockery, fittings and fixtures, and transforms them into the shape of molecules, atoms or microorganisms, thus taking up the mission of the Lise Meitner School.
