The Cradle - as the name suggests, the new building was designed according to the Cradle to Cradle® principle. With the Cradle to Cradle® principle, most of the materials used in the building can be recycled. This means that no waste is produced, as much is recycled and reused in another form.

The Cradle is located in the heart of Düsseldorf's media harbour. Care was taken to ensure that the construction materials used in the new building were environmentally friendly. Almost the entire façade of The Cradle consists of wooden elements that come exclusively from sustainable forestry in Europe. Wood replaces other materials such as concrete and plastic. A PVC-free carpet was laid in The Cradle. This filters fine dust out of the air during the day. Green walls on all floors purify and renew the air in a natural way. The green roofs also contribute to improving the climate in the media harbour. No materials on the "Material Banned List of Chemicals" were used in the entire new building!

As a member of the Deutschen Gesellschaft für nachhaltiges Bauen e.V. (DGNB) and the Institut Bauen e.V., HAFI also identifies with the guiding principle of sustainable building. The doors can be opened in the office building with the HAFI Design 303!
